I saw a youtube video of a guy installing a 7.62x39 bullet guide to his VEPR 6.5 grendel and using a tapco 20 round magazine. In the comments, he admits that you cannot feed all 30 rounds from a TAPCO 30rd magazine. It got me thinking and did the comparison in the case tapper and OAL of all three cartridges and concluded that theoretically the AK-74 would be closer to the dimensions of the 6.5 grendel as far as case tappering and OAL, therefore, it should be more feasible to feed all 30 or 28 rounds from a 74 magazine, just as long you change the follower to a 6.5 grendel follower so the cartridges won't bind. I saw in a website TAPCO 30rd mags for the 74 for $8.96. I'm going to experiment and see if is possible. Unless of course any of you 6.5 grendel owners already tried and have not shared the results? will see!

Csspecs is producing high quality mags for the 6.5 now.

I know they do and have already purchase from them for my VEPR 308. My intention is to keep this new rifle as light as possible. I have been shedding weight any way I can by putting the lightest most simplistic plastic furniture. Csspecs mags are built like a tank and on the heavy side. Eventually will hav e to get some of theirs if my plans fail.
