I have a Vepr 308 which has a muzzle brake on it. I want to put this same muzzle brake on my new Vepr Super 308 but noticed that the Super model does not have the detente pin that the regular Vepr has. Is this going to be a problem? How do I ensure that the brake is properly orientated and doesn’t back out under recoil without this spring loaded pin? Here’s a pic to show what I’m talking about. This is on my regular Vepr 308 and is missing from the Vepr Super 308. Thanks in advance.

P.S. New to this forum, how do I attach a picture?

Welcome to the Forum! You need to get some barrel nut indexing shims for the thread pitch you have. You can find them just about anywhere-Amazon,eBay, Carolina Shooters Supply. Use can use a little blue thread locker with everything too.. Buy several of the indexing shims if you like trying all kinds of brakes and are removing them alot. . You really should only use them once.

Thanks, appreciate the info. Did a little bit of research and decided to go with a jam nut. Basically, it’s a nut that backs up against brake and locks it in place. I use one on my brake for my Vepr 12, not sure why I didn't think of using it for this application. Should be here in a few days, we’ll see how it works out. Thanks again.

You could use a crush washer.
