Can you lock it open manually? Stick an empty mag in and see if it holds? I've had them stick a little out of the box until they broke in and functioned properly. Was it both mags or just the OEM one? Put some lube on the lrbho parts and manually cycle pushing button in on bottom of receiver. Then try with mags as well.

What kind of FCG do you have inside? Is there any movement and play with the mag going up or down after it is seated in magwell?

FCG: Fire Control Group. ...Did you put in an aftermarket trigger and hammer like a Tapco G2 , or do you still have the factory (OEM) fcg in it.? Im wondering if a higher hammer profile is making the bolt carrier skip higher missing the lrbho. Hmmm.

Tapco G2 hammers will sit higher than the OEM FCG. Most guys reprofile the hammer face to reduce drag. You can also use the G2 trigger and a Combloc hammer. I would put the OEM FCG back in for testing. Run several mags and see if the lrbho will engage properly.

If you open dust cover and manually cycle bolt carrier with and without mag you will probably be able see the interaction with lrbho and what is happening. Easy fix, break in , or adjustment.
