Hello all,

I was wondering if you guys could tell me if I am really dumb about this, or not.

So, I have been itching a little for something new. What I lack is a good shotgun, and a .50 bmg rifle. Actually came up with a pretty neat design combining a Norneen ULR .50, and a CheyTac M200, but that's a whole other discussion.

Anyhow I remembered hearing about an AK-50 some years ago, and got to searching. The guy has youtube videos on current progress, but it seems like a complete fail to me. Things were redesigned, and just a lot of stuff that I'm trying not to get into, without sounding like I'm trashing him, or his ideas. I could even be way off base.

The case pressures of a .50 bmg arent far different from a .308 or 30.06. So theoretically, couldn't someone basically just work out the scale difference between a .308 and a .50 bmg. Bring up a 3D model of say a .308 VEPR, scale it accordingly, lay a bigger chunk of steel on the mill, harden what needs hardened, and presto?

Granted its easier said than done, as with everything in life. The gas system would need tweaking etc, but shouldn't scaling everything up from an already existing design produce a working .50 AK?

Looks nice!! You secretly knew I like .338 Lapua didnt you? :D

What is the status on that rifle? I have so many questions, lol.

I wonder if I can do this to it, and then I wonder why I feel the need to take every good rifle I see, and make it useless. Hopefully I don't offend by modifying your picture.
