Hi, i have some Veprs and some compensators i would like to use on them. I realize the compensators need to be clocked correctly, but also they need to be on tight. As is, they wobble slightly.

None of them came with crush washers, or time correctly to stay on without wobble. Also, the tapco ak-74 style brake/compensators have the pin cutout/upper gas ports incorrect; they would vent gas DOWNWARDS, INCREASING muzzle rise. I MAY make the proper pin recess myself, but they are also for 7.62, not specifically for 5.45, if that matters.

What size washers do i need? A link would be awesome, i only need 3. I assume i would need to make a cutout to compensate for the barrel pin to correctly line up with the pin cutout in the compensators.

Thanks!

Carolina Shooters Supply will have them for you. You can buy bulk on Ebay and Amazon. There's nothing wrong with having a bunch of spares if you want to swap brakes from time to time.

How often do you swap brakes on yours, Mike?

I usually try several on new rifles depending on what configation it is in taking length ,weight and balance into consideration. If its a standard AK with Bayo lug it will of course limit your options if you want to use a pig sticker. I have so many brakes that I've accumulated over the years to play around with. Its the best way to learn and understand how they work.I care more about the function than the overall look. One if my favorite inexpensive and functional brakes I use in 14x1 lh and 1/2× 28 rh are the slot brakes made by AK Builders.
