Just curious how lucky some of us are, and how many there are.
Here's the question:
Can you walk out of any door of your house, and safely, and legally shoot a gun on your property?

It's fun for sure. Just had a dozer come in and build me some higher banks.

That's on my someday list.

The mental picture is a workshop with a sort of covered back porch as a shooting bench facing a pistol and rifle steel range. Far enough away from the house not to be obnoxious to the family, but not more than a couple hundred yards. That's the dream.

Crap. And I did my best to be as articulate, precise, and accurate as possible, and you got me on the technicality of "walking".

I bought a home in the '90s that I thought was outside of city limits and I could fire at will. The day we moved in I went out back and shot into the ditch line, maybe 75 rounds or so. About 15 minutes later the Police came and informed me that I was about 100 yards inside of the city limits and could not fire there. The seller apparently either lied or did not realize we actually came back into the city limits when coming down our road. Being able to fire on the property was the main reason I was good with buying the place. I left my wife and the home 6 months later. You could say I had irreconcilable differences with both of them ;) My ultimate goal is to get in the middle of some acreage, build a new shop, build a home close to it, and step out the door of either building and live like a free American whenever I feel like it.

I'm probably stuck until the pool company is worth selling. Looks like that will be a while.

I too share Evl's dream.

"I have a dream..." That one day my children could play with little black guns and fire indiscriminately in all directions.

A shop and acreage are a must.

Anthony,
Land is DIRT cheap in South Western Missouri on the border with NW Arkansas. NWA is a GREAT place to live, and cheap cost of living. And we have these things called "seasons", like eight of 'em.

Just sayin'... 8-)

Indiscriminately in all directions sounds like paradise!
