Hey gents and, well.... non-gents.

Very recently purchased a VEPR 54R with 23" barrel from Classic Firearms. In fact, the rifle has yet to arrive to my FFL (it should be there next Monday). Although I am rather long in the tooth and for several decades have considered myself a firearms enthusiast, procuring quite an eclectic collection of firearms... I must admit that I find myself rather excited as I look forward to holding and enjoying this new, my first, 7.62x54R rifle.

I've got a slew of aftermarket products and things I intend to do to the rifle once she arrives. Upon completion of my mods and changes, she will look very little like her original beautiful, walnut thumb-hole stock VEPR'd self. Got some very nice glass coming as well to mount on her. Anyway, I look forward to sharing photos of her here with fellow VEPR enthusiasts once the time comes.

Nice to see someone else in the region with a Vepr. Be prepared for when you talk about your new rifle amongst other firearm enthusiasts and get the "what's a Vepr?"

Thanks for the heads-up. I suppose some uninformed knuckle-heads respond with: "What? A Vesper did you say? Or was that some brand of soda pop you're referring to?"
