Been looking at different ammo types and reading the reviews but most all of them are shooting mosins.

So I'm curious, which ammo has gotten the best results for vepr shooters? I'm not a reloader so I'm most interested in production ammo. From what I've read it appears the heavier bullets seem to perform better but I'm wondering if everyone chimes in maybe we'll see a consistent pattern that we all might want to try out.

So, what have you gotten the best results shooting with your vepr?

[EDIT]

I wasn't sure whether to post here or in the 54r forum

Each rifle is going to be a little different. Mine does not like 200 grain ammo. It does ok with heavy ball, but generally likes 174 and lighter bullets. Here are a few groups.

Heavy Ball

Surplus, think it was light ball.

200 grain, Probably match ammo?

That's the sort of info I am looking for. Which your of vepr are you shooting?

Seems like over kill for a mosin.

If you really want to join the sierra club, though why not for your V308 or vepr '54r?

I think I should have posted in the 54r forum. I don't think very many spam shooters look here since it seems to be mostly about reloading

I've been watching this thread and had hoped to hear more opinions. I've just been shooting silver tip off hand due to no time right now for bench shooting. I ran into a couple hundred round of older Norma and look forward to seeing what it can do with quality ammo.

Yeah I think more opinions will be find in the 54r forum. I'm going to ask there. Even if they move it here at least they will see it.
