Ok so I have had my 7.62x39 Pioneer for a few months now and am really liking it. I've been running 30 round ProMag steel mags in it with no modification . So far it has fed Fiocci, Tula, YugoM67, Redarmy standard and Elite, and PMC just fine. No FTF or FTE. I know they aren't known as being anyone's favorite AK mag but they run awesome in the Pioneer with no modification. I had a couple laying around that were Christmas gifts from my dad.. they don't work in my AK but are awesome in the Pioneer.. give em a shot. They are easy to find, and usually cheap.

Great Post. If they function great that's all that counts.

Ok so a small update . I bought three more of the steel Pro Mag 30 rounders. 2 worked great, like the other two I have, the third did require a few min of filing on the mag catch tab to get the mag catch to engage fully. All three fed rounds and functioned perfectly. So far they seem to work uniformly . Someone asked if they have a bullet guide on the follower, and yes there is a raised dimple on the follower. that's what seems to make the difference, I guess. Its nice to have a large cap mag if you were to need one. Most of the time I just roll with one of my tens .
