Hello, quick question to you guys with the full stock Veprs . What is everyone using as a protectant , wax, oil, notheing.? Does anyone know what vepr uses as a finish on these . I read somewhere shellac, but having several shellacked stocks, these don't look like shellac. Mine kinda looks like it's had maybe one or two coats of BLO. I was thinking of using some gunny paste over the top. Any recommendations?

It's definitely not shellac. I always just left mine alone. If you want a harder glossier finish you can probably go with polyurethane to your liking.I think the finis may be closer to a tung oil.

Thanks for the reply.i kinda figured it was an oil of some sort , and not much of it. Mine is pretty dry . Nice stock though, with some nice looking grain .. I sent a email off the Fime group as well, see what they say.
