Ummm... Where did this come from, and why would 9 round capacity matter?

I work on 1911s here and there, but you will be waiting a long time for me to make mags for them, lol. You win.

Just curious, why 9 rounds? Is there some weird under 10 rounds law out there somewhere that I haven't been appalled by yet?

the reason i don't want 10 rounders is they stick out to much. In the 80s there was a 9 round mag that stuck out about as far as a 8 rounder with a bump plate. So a 9 rounder would stick out as much as a 8 rounder if it was designed right. I no a few people that cut 9 round mags tig them back together and they hang out as much as a highquailty 8 round mag. I could probably make one for myself but i don't have time I'm working on building a business, going to school, I'm on various town council stuff.

This sounds like a job for you mang and i know people would buy them.

Why not get 10 rounders from wilson combat or whatever and TIG the floorplate on, if that's what you want. Making a good mag from scratch is kind of reinventing the wheel. 1911s are notorious for being very picky about mags. It just seems like buying one of the 3 or so best companie's 10 round mags and cutting it down/ bending to take the floor plate shorter would be easier. If you wanted to do a run, you could probably make a die for bending the cut mags to take the floorplates again.

I noticed people make broad statements like 1911s are mag picky is this old timy internet hearsay or based on any sort of truth. Because I have not expereicned it and I know people say a lot of silly caca on forums that becomes truth because more then one person says it or so called experts.

sorry about the punctuation and grammar

ps I don't care about my punctuation or grammar

I don't think 1911s are necessarily picky about mags, I think it has more to do with there being a lot of junk/worn out 1911 mags out there

I hate 1911 mags and I am not particularly fond of the platform in a functional sense. I like the way they look, but it ends there. Skin deep, if you will.

Basically any pistol of modern design is fine. I here people make blanket statements about Glocks or that 1911s jam or have mag issues its all personal preference I'm fine with a revolver to.
