Looking for an update on this fore end for the Model 1. Got a SB 5.45 coming and wondering if this will fit it. Got standard AK furniture, but want to do something more custom since this rifle is somewhat rare or an endangered species.

Still interested in the 02 308 version, but the hand guard in these photos looks like it's ready to go on standard model (non integrated).

Will the shorter forend system for the AKM work on the VEPR? I would assume I need to buy a 2 piece lower retainer unless there is a vepr kit.

The AKM version will not work on the Vepr because of the difference in barrel diameter. The barrel clamp for the AKM version is much smaller.
