I installed a SM-13 scope mount on my .308 VEPR. I noticed that you can put pressure on it and the side mount flexes. Then i mounted it on my SGL31 and there is no flex at all its rock solid. This problem seems to be because the VEPR's only use 2 rivets where as Saigas use 3.

After some googling i came across some information that Robinson Armament even knew about this problem and said that .308 may not hold zero. I realize that this may be a non issue as i have not shot the rifle with a scope yet but it is concerning to me.

If it was a problem could a Saiga side mount be installed by drilling a third hole and with the 2 existing holes line up correctly?

Has anyone had a problem with scopes holding zero because of the 2 rivet mount flexing?
