I have a barrel that needs threading. A local gunsmith wants $120 to do it. I could buy the parts for nearly $100. But I would much rather maybe borrow or rent the tools to do it if at all possible. I was able to do this for the parts to thread my MAK90 muzzle a few years back, so maybe one of our members might want to help another out? :?:

120 is steeeep! Does he have to press the barrel out to use on a lathe? I wish you luck. Maybe it's time for you to start VRT (Vepr Rental Tools) ha ha

I ended up buying the parts I need, so I'll close this thread.
And it was for a Mossberg 500 barrel. Something that can be removed, set up on the lathe in the 4 jaw chuck, cut to length, threaded, removed & reinstalled in under a half hour.
