There is a gentleman on another VEPR-12 forum looking to sell his take-off folder. I am not sure if it this board's rules allow for a link to other forums but it should be pretty easy to find or PM me and I will link you. It is not me and I do not know the guy BTW, I am just passing along what I saw.

Listings have to be created here. It cuts down on the confusion, especially with auction sites. There is a new user who has one listed in the Marketplace here. I think it is in the $300 range.

Guys, if someone decide to remove the RPK (V-12) folding mech pin, it must be done, by using punch, from bottom of the receiver with the opened dust cover :) .

I recommend semi-gloss black engine enamel for the finish match. Low-gloss will not match. That black nail polish will fall off in no time.

I have been filing away on mine for over an hour and removed enough metal to make an anvil and the thing still won't fold.

Is it normal that the folding button thing barely moves?

Is it possible that they put some little dot welds on the bottom of the folding mech pin?

I'm working on it on an L-shaped countertop and don't want to apply too much pressure and screw something up. I've already applied about 100#'s of pressure with no result.

My button was stuck like it was painted or something . The button on mine has to travel 90% to 95% of the slot before the latch diengages

This.

You sould be able to see when you are through (or better yet just before you are through) the spot weld. STOP. You shoul be able to break the weld an clean up the rest once open.

Your latch should move the entire distance of the hole/cut in the receiver. If not, try pushing it a bit harder. Mine was sticky and needed a bit of convincing to move through its full amount of travel.

No matter how much you grind, it won't open if the latch isn't working.

Had to put a wooden block against the patch and smack the block to love the latch all the way forward. The hinges are stiff as hell, need to take two hands to fold and unfold it. Put some hoppes oil on it and flexed it back and forth several times but it's still stiff.

Congrats!

Yes, they are pretty stiff at the hinge. But I'd rather have it a bit tight over having it loose and sloppy. I'm talking about the stock here.
