So my new PSO-3 scope arrived today and it didn't fit. The rail is set too low on the side for SVD/SKS style scope mounts. Anyone else run into this problem? I'm going to have to drill out the rivets in order to relocate the rail up one centimeter. Will post pics later. I let the batteries die for my drill... :(

VEPRs come with an AK rail, not an SVD rail. So you'll need to get a PSO scope with an AK mount or modify your VEPR and the existing rail like you are doing (or put on an SVD rail).

Got news for you, its an SVD rail not an AK rail. I did my homework before getting the scope.

I would just add a Midwest Industries QD and sell the POSP.

That's odd. Because my 54r Vepr is AK.

huh.... that's odd all our Veprs here all fit the standard AK mounts. Specifically the RS mounts.

Veprs do indeed have AK style scope rails. Below are the differences...

Vepr/ SVD rails.

AK / SVD / Universal mounts.

To alk the folks Here in the Vepr forum; I purposely ordered my Vepr with a SVD rail (from the factory. Yes i have contacts), not the AK rail. I have a plethora of Saigas in various calibers so i do know what the difference is.

Why did I sign up for this when everyone has to be right and prove me wrong? Last post on this forum!

No one is trying to prove you wrong. It sounds like you have a unique rifle. Most all Veprs have an AK rail, as everyone posted. The information posted here is useful to everyone. Some may not know what mount is what, that is why more information is posted.

You were the only one to know you have a unique Vepr. The members here were trying to help you.
