Cannot remove the safety to upgrade trigger. The problem, the safety was installed...backwards, eliminating the possibility of a simple trigger replacement.

Try rotating the safety lever the opposite direction (clockwise when looking at the right-side of the rifle).

Bend the lever if needed so it will rotate past the selector stop. Keep rotating the lever until it is in the proper position so that it can be removed.

Replace the lever. Krebs might still have some Vepr levers he pulled off of the rifles he modified. Other AK levers might work too.

Second post has the method. You rotate the lever downward.

Have tried that it did not work either.

Was talking with some dude who did something, now the safety comes out no problem. The VEPR springs are beefy, I am reluctant to replace it with the current after market springs.
Any thoughts on keeping the original spring vs replace?

most likely the spring slipped off of the hammer leg . He flipped the spring off and rotated the lever down . Period the lever also has to be flexed past the safety stop .
