Will SAIGA .308 mags work? Are those the ProMags? I saw some 24rd mags of those for around $30

My bet is no. From reading about attempts to get M14 mags to work in Saigas and VEPRs, the two must be different. Any first hand experience guys?

Classic Arms is out of stock right now, but they were selling 10 rd mags for 39.99, lowest I've seen. Anyone find any less, please let me know.

Thanks

+1 on Csspecs mags. Why go with some janky promag when you can own something with durability? We tested this guys steel mags in Dudethebagman's saiga 308 and they worked REALLY well and were sturdy little fuckers. Cant say enough good things about his work.

I like my csspecs .308 mags in 5, 10, & 20 rounds. I believe I posted before though that they seem to rattle more than any other magazines. I did swap in a plastic follower from a Russian mag that cut down the rattling considerably.

I ordered (4) 20 rd. .308 VEPR magazines directly from Csspecs and (5) arrived a few days later. Fit and finish are excellent, snap right in, no drama.

Total was around $38 ea. including shipping.

Kudos to Csspecs for a great product and outstanding service.

Just an fyi: Bought some recently imported 308 Vepr factory mags and the mag catch tab on the rear of the magazine is 100% plastic as there is no metal reinforcement. Magnet confirms it. My original robinson arms imported .308 mags have mag catch tabs made of metal(magnet confirms it).

Yup, just one more reason to go with csspecs. ;) I would mention that the metal tab could be about a 1/16" longer to work much better with the VEPR Super's goofy mag ejector, but it can be worked around with practice. Not an issue at all with a normal .308 V1. :)
